New 2018 Beechcraft King Air C-90GTx to arrive on September 25
Medford, OR – September 20, 2018 – Mercy Flights Inc. is proud to announce the addition of a new aircraft to serve the residents of Southern Oregon and Northern California. The 2018 Beechcraft King Air C-90GTx is scheduled to arrive on Tuesday, September 25th, expanding the current fleet to include 3 fixed-wing planes. “This new plane is part of our long-term plan to update and upgrade our fleet,” said Mercy Flights Inc. CEO Doug Stewart. “We’re excited to bring new technology to our team and the patients we serve. This aircraft is an important investment in the health and well-being of our communities and will ultimately create efficiencies in service and maintenance.”
According to Stewart, a third fixed-wing plane will enhance services and access for local residents and hospital partners. The nonprofit’s helicopter and 24 ground ambulance units will also continue to provide first response and preventive health services in collaboration with local fire department responders. An additional new 2017 Beechcraft King Air C-90GTx was added to the fleet in April of 2018. Mercy Flights Inc. continues to operate its existing Kingair C-90 aircraft as well.

The 2018 Beechcraft King Air C-90GTx features and benefits include:
- Improved engines that are 750 shaft horsepower per engine de-rated to 550 shaft horsepower;
- Increased maximum take-off weight;
- Reduced runway take-off distance;
- Increased speed of aircraft in all phases of flight
- Three 14-diagonal-inch high resolution, touchscreen Liquid Crystal Displays (LCD) located in the “Glass Cockpit”;
- Primary Flight Displays (PFD) equipped with “Synthetic Vision” which shows the topography of the ground and any man-made obstacles over 200-foot-tall and Terrain Awareness Warning System (TAWS) which will give both visual and audio warnings of obstacles;
- A HIPAA compliant onboard communication link that will allow the medical crew to talk, text and exchange data with sending or receiving hospital; and
- A more ergonomic work environment for the medical providers attending to patients.
