Mercy Flights is accepting applications for a full-time Senior Accountant.
Established in 1949, Mercy Flights is a not-for-profit company that was the first civil air ambulance service in the United States. Our focus is on serving the community by providing quality clinical service, at a reasonable cost for 911 ambulance, helicopter and fixed wing transport. Position Information:
The Senior Accountant performs duties related to the general ledger and financial statements. They also assist the CFO in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Hours: 40 hours/week. (non-exempt), Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm;
Starting Pay rate: $28.85/hr. (DOE);

Essential Duties and Responsibility:
Prepare monthly journal entries and perform account reconciliations to ensure accurate financial statements;
Review and analyze financial statements for accuracy and trends;
Ensure the general ledger is up to date, accurate and in compliance with GAAP;
Review invoices for proper documentation and account codes;
Work closely with other departments to review procedures related to financial transactions and internal controls;
Assist with spreadsheets and reports to prepare financial analyses, forecasting, and budgeting.

Qualification Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business is required. CPA License or passed CPA exam is preferred;
A minimum of three to five years of direct accounting experience is required;
Must have solid understanding and working knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles);
Requires high-level analytical and review skills along with advanced accounting concepts and theory;
Requires computer proficiency including Microsoft office, (word, excel, outlook), accounting computer application systems and working knowledge of internet and web based applications. NetSuite and ADP experience is a plus;
Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be well- organized, professional, reliable and must be able to think and work independently.
