The Mercy Flights Communication Center serves as the organization’s central information hub. Staffed 24/7 by trained dispatchers, the team manages all calls for air and ground transport while continuously monitoring flights in progress. In 2025 alone, the center handled more than 34,000 calls across integrated radio and phone systems.
Working closely with Emergency Communications of Southern Oregon (ECSO), Jackson County’s Public Safety Answering Point, dispatchers ensure the right level of care is delivered to the right patient at the right time.
The team also tracks every medical flight, coordinating with receiving facilities and maintaining compliance with FAA regulations for Mercy Flights’ helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft. In addition, they efficiently manage inter-facility transport requests for both air and ground services.
Mobile Integrated Healthcare Dispatch
Our Communications Center also houses our Mobile Integrated Healthcare (MIH) Dispatchers, a specialized team dedicated to coordinating non-emergency healthcare services and resources for patients throughout Southern Oregon. Working closely with MIH clinicians, healthcare providers, and community partners, they help connect individuals to the right care at the right time while supporting seamless communication across the continuum of care.
