Mercy Flights is more than an ambulance service. As the nation’s first nonprofit air medical transport organization, we have been serving our region for generations with a simple mission: saving and enhancing lives by delivering vital integrated mobile healthcare in the sky and valleys below.
Unlike for-profit providers, every dollar we earn is reinvested directly into the communities we serve, supporting lifesaving equipment, advanced clinical training, innovative healthcare programs, and initiatives that improve access to care throughout Southern Oregon and Northern California.

That commitment extends beyond emergency response. Mercy Flights was one of the first organizations in the country to offer an air ambulance membership program, helping provide families with financial peace of mind when unexpected medical emergencies occur.

We also invest in the future of healthcare through workforce development initiatives, including the Southern Oregon EMS Apprenticeship Program.
By partnering with educators, healthcare providers, and workforce agencies, we help individuals earn while they learn, creating pathways into rewarding EMS careers and strengthening the healthcare workforce throughout our region.
Healthcare at Home
A new model for meeting patients where they are
In 2026, Mercy Flights expanded its commitment to community health by launching the Mobile Integrated Healthcare (MIH) and In-Home Emergency Care (IHEC) program.
This innovative model brings healthcare directly into patients’ homes, providing assessment, treatment, and follow-up care for those whose medical needs may not require a traditional emergency department visit.
By delivering care where patients are most comfortable, the program improves access, reduces unnecessary hospital utilization, and helps connect patients with the resources they need to stay healthy and independent.
Inspiring Future Healthcare Professionals
Explorer Post 131
We are also dedicated to inspiring the next generation of healthcare professionals through programs such as Explorer Post 131.
This hands-on program introduces local youth to careers in emergency medical services, healthcare, and public safety through mentorship, training opportunities, ride-alongs, and real-world experiences.
By investing in young people today, we are helping build a stronger healthcare workforce for tomorrow.
