The Mercy Flights Team actively works to improve safety at our emergency scenes. Our helicopter medical crews regularly fly in to locations within our service area to provide information about Mercy Flights Helicopter Flight Program. This is a FREE training service we provide to the fire departments
and ambulance services, both paid and volunteer, who utilize our services.

This training includes information regarding appropriate use of the
helicopter, the level of medical services provided and our average response
times for each area. We will provide hands-on practice in setting up a safe
landing zone, patient packaging and safe approach to the helicopter when
performing a “hot load” (loading the patient while the blades are still turning).

Because we are team oriented and dedicated to safety, we enjoy the
opportunity to meet with our first responders. Mercy Flights Inc. has a very
strong commitment to serving our community and providing a safe, quality,
medical service. To that end, we have dedicated this time to ensure responder safety and comfort in activating the helicopter and working with our crews.
